They say home is where the heart is, and you wouldn't want to put your heart into the hands of just anyone. That’s why you want your new home to be built by not only a quality builder, but the right one for you.
One of the ways to determine this is to visit show homes; there, you’ll get a visual representation of what that builder has to offer. Beyond that, a sales representative will be there as a guide and to happily answer each of your (likely) many questions.
Below, you’ll find 11 questions frequently asked by eager home-hunters visiting our show homes that can give you a little informational leverage before the fun stuff (getting bright-eyed over design and decor!).
1. Where do you build?
In the most desirable communities across Calgary, you’re likely to find an equally desirable Augusta-built home. We choose our communities based on their landscape and offerings, ensuring ample green space and top-rated amenities will be available to our customers. These communities include Cooper’s Crossing, Dressage (Silverado), Crestmont, Harmony, Artesia, and Patterson Heights.
2. Will you build in another community?
The short answer is, “yes!” although this is location-dependent. Our primary focus is you and your satisfaction as our customer, so we are willing to attempt to accommodate your location wishes. However, the community developer will also have to give permission for the build to take place.
3. Do you build on acreages?
Unfortunately, we do not. Our site supervisors pride themselves in being diligent in their work, and for this reason, having to watch over a specific area out of town stretches their attention and time too thinly.
4. What makes you better than other builders?
We know that those building a custom home are wanting to see their vision come to life perfectly. Often, it’s a home they’ve dreamed of having for quite some time. It’s important to us that we make this happen for you, and that we do it right. We take no short-cuts; Augusta Homes adheres to the highest level of standard specifications and we pay close attention to every detail.
5. Will Augusta Fine Homes help us out with the sale of our existing home?
When you choose to work with Augusta, you’re choosing a builder that will walk you through the process, literally every step of the way. While your new home is being built, we have a trusted realtor we work closely with, who can assist in the sale of your existing home.
6. Will it cost me more to do custom than building a stock plan?
Not necessarily. The true cost of a custom home build will be plan-dependent. Whether you choose to design from scratch, or build off a standard plan, the degree of customization and upgrade choices will always cause the prices to vary.
7. What is the starting price for an Augusta Fine Home?
On a specific lot, we can build a custom home in the high $900,000's.
8. Do you have any promotions?
While we do hold promotions from time to time, they are always area-dependent. This type of inquiry can be answered by contacting our show homes in the area you’re interested in directly.
9. How long does it take to build?
The average timeline of a custom home build is around 10-12 months. This may vary depending on the complexity of build; but from what we’ve seen, the wait is always worth it!
10. What kind of changes can we make?
It’s no exaggeration to say almost anything is possible with home customization. We always build to suit your needs and wants, from simple to extravagant. As long as it falls within code, developer guidelines, as well as the laws of physics – we can build it.
11. How much are Community Fees, and what is included?
HOA (Home Owners Association) fees can be different for each area or community. In general, though, these fees are usually pooled to cover things like hiring service providers, maintenance, upkeep and repair of common areas. Essentially, the cost of these fees can be equated with the cost to keep your new community looking beautiful and functioning properly.
