Every second Tuesday at Centre Street and First Street you’ll find up to 40 vendors offering a vast array of items such as fresh produce, meats, and other food goods, art, fashion, jewelry, and so much more! The weather is still spectacular, so come visit between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm on September 6th and 20th and pick up some local fare.

Admit it, you can’t resist the pooches. Get your canine fix at the Calgary Kennel & Obedience Club semi-annual all-breed dog show this coming September. From conformation, puppy sweeps, and obedience trials to a rally obedience fun match, there is an endless run of breeds to see. Visit with breeders, pet some pooches and have a great time at the Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre in Cochrane. Just remember, they are requesting you leave your own pet at home.

Hosted by the BBQ on the Bow Society, Eau Claire Festival Market will be home to the Annual BBQ on the Bow Festival. Visit the festival to experience the BBQ sauce and Chef’s Choice competitions, top Canadian blues musicians, Stampede talent search winners, and local bands. Bring the family to enjoy the children’s craft tent, Street Zone, and general store. And you won’t want to miss the Bow River Banquet—Lorna James, The Redneck Gourmet, will be in attendance!

What’s Beakerhead? Why, it’s a smash-up of art, science, and engineering. It’s a completely hands-on, interactive experience of the crazy, the cool, and the cosmic. Play in the world’s largest sandbox: dig for archeological treasures, bring a picnic, or just get dirty. If you’re a foodie, eating can be scientific too: visit select restaurants to experience the science of food from molecular cocktails to engineered temptations. And for the kids, get messy along Stephen Avenue in the cornstarch walk, or take a tumble in the giant, human-sized hamster wheel. For all you foodies out there, Food Fest 2016 is on its way! This event offers more than just a bajillion food trucks. Bring the family to enjoy carnival games, a petting zoo, bouncy castles, and face painting. This event is in support of a city-wide food drive for Calgary Food Bank, so bring your donations, too! Admission is free; come on down to 11400 27 Street SE from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm on September 17th, and bring your appetite!
