At Augusta Homes, we take the time to get to know you, because building a home you'll love is just as important to us as it is to you. That's also why we make sure everyone on our team shares that same passion. So, we thought you might like to get to know us a little better, too.
In our second Behind the Scene With The Augusta Team post, we'll introduce you to our Senior Estimator, Clayton Thomas!
1. What do you do? What are the duties/functions/responsibilities of your job?
As the Senior Estimator, some of my duties include pricing custom homes and upgrades for customers, dealing with trades and suppliers, maintaining budgets as well as administering purchase orders. But it's not all "behind the scene" for me, I'll also meet with customers to discuss and review pricing and problem solve when the need arises.
It's important that I maintain a thorough knowledge of market values so I'm able to answer any questions customers may have. Open communication with clients ensures they're informed and comfortable, and helps keep them within their budget.
2. What is the most rewarding part of your job and/or working for Augusta?
One of the most rewarding aspects for my job is watching the customers ideas start as a simple blackline drawing and transform into the exact home they envisioned. It's amazing to watch the process from start to finish; it's truly like watching a dream turn to reality.
3. If you could have any superpower what would it be and why?
Clairvoyant – it would be pretty handy for budgeting! :)
4. What do you think is the most important goal of a new home builder?
I think it’s not only important to give the customer the highest quality home we can, but to also make the journey from start to finish enjoyable. We work very closely with each and every one of our customers, ensuring they're kept well-informed and up-to-date on the progress of what is likely one of the biggest investments of their lifetime.
I believe our goal to be consistently available to our customers, helping to make their home building journey as stress-free as possible, is just as valuable as the end result. We want our customers to look at their new custom home and see first-rate quality, and remember service of the same calibre.
5. What is your personal motto?
I’m not sure I have a personal motto but I have a strong belief in honesty and integrity.
6. In your opinion, how would you describe Augusta Fine Homes in three words?
Honesty, Integrity, Quality (which is why I feel this is a good fit for me!).
